Position Summary
Step into a key leadership role with Northern Health as the Lead, Infrastructure & Cloud Services, guiding teams that deliver essential infrastructure and cloud solutions that support patient care and organizational operations.
The Lead, Infrastructure & Cloud Services provides day-to-day operational leadership for teams supporting technical infrastructure services across Northern Health, including on‑premises, cloud, related platform technologies, and infrastructure‑dependent operational systems. The role is accountable for coordinating workload and service priorities, providing staff supervision, managing operational escalations, and ensuring infrastructure services are operationally ready and supportable throughout their lifecycle. Working closely with IMIT peers, provincial partners, and external service providers, the Lead supports the lifecycle management of infrastructure services, including service onboarding, operational sustainment, continual improvement, and retirement, ensuring services are delivered in alignment with organizational needs, established standards, and applicable provincial frameworks.
Starting salary will be approximately from $90,770 to $113,462 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology, with a focus on infrastructure services in a complex enterprise environment, including on‑premises and cloud‑based platforms.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience providing operational leadership, supervision, or team‑lead responsibilities.
Experience supporting infrastructure services through their lifecycle, including service onboarding, operational sustainment, technology refresh, and retirement.
ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
Skills and Abilities
Broad knowledge of infrastructure operations, including server, data centre, cloud, and platform technologies in an operational support environment.
Working knowledge of IT service management practices and their application within infrastructure operations.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate workloads, manage operational priorities, and respond effectively to service escalations.
Ability to develop and maintain clear, practical operational documentation, procedures, and standards.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, peers, and service partners.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including staff supervision, performance management, coaching, and team development.
Ability to analyze operational issues, identify improvement opportunities, and support service stability and reliability.
Ability to prioritize and execute work in a high‑pressure environment and manage stress in a positive and productive manner.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across organizational boundaries.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
