Position: LEAD, FACILITY TECHNOLOGY SERVICES
Position Summary
Northern Health is seeking a dynamic Lead, Facility Technology Services to oversee the operational delivery and lifecycle management of critical facility-based technology systems across our organization.

The Lead, Facility Technology Services provides day-to-day operational leadership for teams supporting facility technology services across Northern Health, including building management systems, environmental and lighting controls, nurse call and communication systems, security and safety technologies, and related infrastructure-dependent operational systems. The role is accountable for coordinating workload and service priorities, providing staff supervision, managing operational escalations, and ensuring facility technology services are operationally ready and supportable throughout their lifecycle.

Working closely with Facilities Management, IMIT peers, provincial partners, and external service providers, the Lead supports the lifecycle management and operational integration of facility technology services, ensuring services are delivered in alignment with operational requirements, established standards, and applicable regulatory and safety frameworks.

Starting salary will be approximately from $90,770 to $113,462 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Health Sciences, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology or facility technology systems within a complex enterprise environment.

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience providing operational leadership, supervision, or team-lead responsibilities.

• Experience supporting facility technology systems through their lifecycle, including system onboarding, operational sustainment, maintenance, and replacement.

• ITIL Foundation certification preferred.

• Valid . Class 5 Driver’s Licence.

Skills and Abilities:

• Broad knowledge of facility technology systems, including building management systems, environmental and lighting controls, nurse call and communication systems, security and safety technologies, and related operational platforms in an operational support environment.

• Working knowledge of IT service management practices and their application within operational and facility technology environments.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate workloads, manage operational priorities, and respond effectively to service escalations.

• Ability to develop and maintain clear, practical operational documentation, procedures, and standards.

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, Facilities Management, and service partners.

• Demonstrated leadership skills, including staff supervision, performance management, coaching, and team development.

• Ability to analyze operational issues, identify improvement opportunities, and support service stability and reliability.

• Ability to prioritize and execute work in a high-pressure environment and manage stress in a positive and productive manner.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across organizational boundaries.

• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
