Groundsperson Facility Services

Position: Groundsperson 1 for Facility Services
Join our Facility Services team as a Groundsperson 1, dedicated to maintaining and repairing grounds in a public environment. This limited duration role commands a $29.02 hourly wage starting July 2024.

You will work under general direction to ensure the upkeep of play fields and other outdoor areas. Essential functions include operating grounds equipment, performing turf maintenance, and keeping environments clean and safe. You will also assist with training fellow employees on specific equipment and order materials as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate trucks, trailers, and grounds maintenance equipment

• Install and maintain playground facilities like goal posts and swings

• Shovel soil, snow, and manage litter disposal

• Conduct turf grass and irrigation maintenance tasks

• Direct and train colleagues on equipment usage

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent

• Minimum two years of related experience

• Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License

• Knowledge of health and safety procedures

• Basic computer and tool operation skills
