This job description addresses various scenarios where nurses are required to work in one or more areas requiring advanced training & experience.
The Registered Nurse - Perinatal/Medical/Surgical, working collaboratively with the inter‑professional team, plans and provides direct patient care to obstetrical patients during the intra, postpartum and high‑risk antepartum periods and other assigned medical/surgical patients by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)
GR Baker Memorial Hospitalis a full care hospital with 27 Acute Care beds, 4 ICU beds and 5 crisis stabilization beds. Some services provided the hospital:

- Physiotherapy

- Visiting specialists in Cardiology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Ophthalmology
- Video conferencing for consultations with specialists or physicians in other areas.

Qualfications- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing. Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Completion of a recognized Perinatal Nursing specialty program.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certificate
- Current Fetal Health Surveillance Course Certificate
- Clinical proficiency in the designated clinical area.
