About West Hill Midwifery

West Hill Midwifery in Prince George, BC is looking for 1–2 midwives to join and expand our busy practice.

We respectfully acknowledge that West Hill Midwifery is located on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation.

We provide midwifery care in a high‑volume environment, handling 4–5 estimated due dates (EDD) per full‑time midwife each month for a team of 3–4 midwives. Calls are scheduled in a 1st–2nd call system, with 24–48 hour shifts and 6 weeks of vacation annually.

Midwives hold privileges at the University Hospital of Northern BC, a level 2B facility with 24/7 NICU, obstetrics, pediatrics and anesthesia. We support home and hospital births, including 1–5 monthly home/hotel births, and frequent water births using a dedicated birth tub.

Our clinic is transitioning into the new Prince George Maternity Clinic, an interdisciplinary setting where midwives, GPOBs, RNs, social workers and other allied health professionals collaborate.

• Ability and willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Comfort supporting clients who choose care outside the standard of care
• High level of professionalism and strong communication skills
• Ability to build strong interprofessional relationships

• Experience in homebirth and waterbirth
• Experience in rural/remote midwifery care

• Team structure: 3–4 midwives
• Caseload: 4–5 EDDs per midwife per month
• Projected monthly gross income: $12,000–18,000+
