Position Summary
Registered Nurse – A dedicated and motivated professional is sought to provide compassionate patient care at the University Hospital of Northern BC. Under the guidance of the Manager or designate, the RN will practice in accordance with the standards of Professional Practice and the Code of Ethics outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The role includes working with the interdisciplinary team to plan, provide, and evaluate direct patient care, demonstrating a specialized knowledge base grounded in nursing science and related disciplines.

Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)
Qualifications- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BCCNM.
- Advanced preparation in Neonatal clinic specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Complete initial and ongoing patient assessment, including clinical and diagnostic reasoning, and provide nursing care through appropriate technical, therapeutic, and safety interventions.
- Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, the public, medical staff, and interprofessional team members using verbal, written, and electronic means.
- Recognize acuity changes and intervene appropriately in emergency situations.
- Provide nutritional support to infants, including assisting parents with breast or chest feeding.
- Promote family‑centered care, demonstrating empathy for patients and families, sensitivity to diverse cultures, and patient advocacy.
- Teach and instruct families and caregivers about essential health care topics for newborns and infants.
- Organize and prioritize work.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all health care team members.
- Operate related equipment and use relevant computer applications.
- Maintain physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
