The Registered Care Aide supports clients through medically supervised withdrawal management and residential treatment. The role functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse or other designate and works in cooperation with interdisciplinary team members to deliver client care in accordance with established policies, standards, and procedures.
Responsibilities- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients/families and provide support following established care plans; greet patients/families and assist with storage of personal belongings and creation of a safe, comfortable environment.
- Assist in the delivery of nursing care under the functional direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse and perform nursing duties such as recording blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height and weight, and administering non‑sterile dressings.
- Help clients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist clients with walking, transferring from bed to chair, and other mobility‑related needs.
- Respond to call bells/alarms by alerting the appropriate health care team member and/or assisting as necessary; respond to emergent situations by calling appropriate code and assisting the care team in accordance with program guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of the plan of care by reporting observations and documenting as required any physical or mental condition, capabilities and identified nursing requirements; provide input and suggestions for the ongoing maintenance and care of patients.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of Resident Care Certificate.
- Possession of a Basic First Aid Certificate.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods course.
Wage Range: $25.67 to $33.24 per hour.
