Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the University Hospital of Northern BC in Prince George. The RN practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and the code of ethics outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, providing direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in an acute medical unit.
Shift/ Hours of Work
- Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:15
- 19:00 to 07:15 (rotating)
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing RN registrant.
- Complete initial and ongoing patient assessments and provide nursing care through appropriate clinical interventions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, the public, medical staff, and interprofessional team members via verbal, written and computer communication means.
- Integrate and evaluate pertinent data from multiple sources to problem‑solve effectively.
- Promote resident‑focused care that demonstrates advocacy, social justice concerns and sensitivity to diverse cultures.
- Transmit information to instruct patients, families, and others on health care topics.
- Organize and prioritize work to promote staff morale, cooperation, and innovation.
- Support decisions with evidence‑based research and integrate best practice from nursing and related disciplines.
- Operate related equipment and computer applications.
- Perform the physical duties required of the position.
