Position: Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Acute

Opportunity

Northern Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Emergency Department team at University Hospital of Northern BC. This dynamic role involves providing emergency care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, team-based care environment. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians and emergency nurses, supported by telemedicine tools and flexible scheduling. Advanced certifications required: ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and CASTED.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage CTAS 1 – 5 patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians and emergency department nurses to deliver high-quality emergency care.
  • Utilize Power Chart or paper-based documentation systems.
  • Engage with virtual services to support emergency care delivery.
  • Contribute to a team-based approach to emergency medicine.
About the Location

Prince George is the centre of business, education, health and culture for northern British Columbia. The University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) is the largest acute care facility within the Northern Health region and a hub for specialized health services. UHNBC offers undergraduate physician training and is a key clinical education site for nursing and health sciences students. Recent expansions include an expanded emergency room, updated ICU, state-of-the-art maternal-child care centre, an MRI unit, and a cancer centre.

Range

New Graduate NP - $149,382

1 Year Experience - $156,851

2 Years Experience - $164,320
