SalaryThe salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 - $59.52 per hour.

Eligibility- Fraser Health RN employees and external RN applicants who meet the following criteria:
- Passed NCLEX; current active practising registration with British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
- Current CPR certification.
- Preferred minimum 1–2 years acute care nursing experience.
- Completed new grad hours and/or completed successful probationary period.
- For current FHA employees, one reference will be obtained from your current manager by Talent Acquisition & Onboarding.
- For external applicants, two references will be collected by Talent Acquisition & Onboarding.
- Commit to a comprehensive education program.
- A commitment to a minimum of 18 month regular full-time or part-time FH employment in the specialty area upon successful completion of the program.
- An agreement to attend an orientation session at an educational institution.
- An agreement to travel to an appropriate site/campus and to clinical practice areas (mileage reimbursement per HEABC/BCNU Letter of Understanding on Specialty Education).
- An agreement to allow the education institution to release student progress information to the FH Specialty Education division of Professional Practice.

- Provides nursing care for an individual patient/resident or group of patients/residents based on nursing knowledge and in conformance with established standards and hospital policies by assessing needs, identifying problems, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting nursing care.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare providers in planning and evaluating the care provided to a patient/resident or group of patients/residents.
- Maintains a protected and therapeutic environment for patients/residents, visitors, and staff.
- Plans and provides teaching to patients/residents and their families, identifies needs and refers to appropriate services.
- Actively participates in monitoring and evaluating quality of care and strives to improve it.
- Participates in orientation and ongoing education of nursing staff and students.
- Identifies own learning needs and participates in professional development.
- Promotes optimum and effective use of resources.
- Works in other nursing areas of the hospital as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Graduation from an approved school of nursing with current practising registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current CPR certificate upon hire and maintained as current in specifically identified areas.
- Successful completion of specialty education applicable to the designated clinical area.
- Ability to determine and deal with emergency situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain good public relations and effective working relationships with patients/residents, the general public, other employees, and medical staff.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to use related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
