Nurse Educator

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of a Manager or designate, the Clinical Nurse Educator practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), as well as within a person and family centered care model.
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for identifying, planning, compiling and delivering training sessions for staff to assist them in meeting their key competencies in compliance with scope. They compile, implement, and evaluate general and unit-specific Orientation and Education programs for the staff. They facilitate the development and ongoing maintenance of the department’s preceptorship/mentorship programs, participate in the ongoing review and revision of patient care standards, policies and procedures, and coordinate in‑service programs aimed at meeting the continuing educational needs of staff.
Applicants must have experience working in an OR setting, completed AORN specialty education training, be able to travel throughout the region providing Endoscopy/GI specialty education, and provide a current resume. Location is flexible within Northern Health.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00
