Position: Nurse Practitioner Emergency Care Role
Location: Burns Lake

Northern Health seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner for emergency care at Lakes District Hospital in Burns Lake, BC. This role focuses on providing essential care in a dynamic, patient-focused setting.

In this Nurse Practitioner position, you will handle CTAS 4 and 5 patients independently while participating in support for CTAS 1, 2, and occasionally 3 cases. Engage closely with physicians and nursing teams to maintain high standards of emergency care, consistently utilizing telemedicine tools and flexible schedules to adapt to patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage CTAS 4 and 5 patients independently

• Collaborate on CTAS 1 and 2 cases; assist CTAS 3 when necessary

• Work with a medical team to deliver effective care

• Document using Power Chart or paper systems

• Implement Teladoc virtual services for enhanced support

Requirements:

• Completion of a Master's level Nurse Practitioner program

• Registration eligibility with BCCNM

• Certifications needed: ACLS, PALS, ATLS, CASTED

• Proficiency in teamwork, leadership, and critical assessment

• Ability to educate and mentor within the team
