• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • 4 days on, 2 days off (6:30 AM - 2:30 PM & 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM) x1
  • 4 days on, 4 days off (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM & 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM) x3
  • 4 days on, 2 days off (2:30 PM - 10:30 PM) x2
• Part-time
  • 2 days on, 4 days off (2:30 PM - 10:30 PM) x1
• Casual – Varied hours

Wages: $32.84 - $41.35 per hour

• Graduation from a recognised Practical Nurses program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience recognised by the BCCNM.
• Active registration as an LPN with BCCNM
• Maintains a valid First Aid and CPR “A” Certificate.
• Maintains Occupational First Aide Level 1 status (may be Level 2 depending on site).
• Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
• Passes and complies with Ministry of Justice Criminal record Check upon hire and every five years thereafter.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written.

• Observes, monitors, documents and updates information about residents’ physical and psychological condition, care and nursing procedures.
• Provides and assists with personal care to residents as required.
• Supports emergency staff scheduling, as required.
• Ensures adherence to Infection Control Practices and provides education as required for outbreak and basic infection control practices.

Assesses resident health status including, but not limited to:

• Differentiating between normal and abnormal physical findings
• Recognising deviations from mental health baseline, differentiating between dementia and delirium
• Assessing and monitoring resident’s actual and potential strengths and limitations including physiological, psychological, socio‑cultural and spiritual needs.
• Taking appropriate action such as consulting with the primary physician or making referral to the Mental Health Team.

• Gerontological experience preferred.
• MDS education (Gold Care or Point Click Care).
• 1‑2 years’ experience in a complex care site is preferred.
