Position: REGISTERED NURSE (RN), NORTHERN EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (NERT) AND VIRTUAL SUPPORT
Overview  Do you have a passion for nursing? We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC). The role supports compassionate patient care within the Northern Emergency Response Team (NERT) and a virtual support network, aligning with the mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health. The Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and within a patient- and family-centered care model.

When not performing transfers, the Nurse assists with patient care in collaboration with hospital-based practitioners across departments including the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit, and supports rural Emergency Departments through real-time guidance and mentorship via a virtual network.
Working in collaboration with bedside nurses and multidisciplinary teams, the NERT and Virtual Support Nurse apply the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in a variety of clinical settings.
Responsibilities   Perform interfacility transfers alongside BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) paramedics according to established policies and procedures.
Provide real-time advice and mentorship to Rural Emergency Department nurses managing complex patients through an established virtual network.
Assist with patient care as required, collaborating with hospital-based practitioners in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and other healthcare teams.
Utilize specialized communication and information technologies to support patient care and coordination.
Apply the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to ensure safe and effective care within the current clinical context.
Qualifications   Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice in British Columbia with adherence to standards of professional practice and the BCCNM code of ethics.
Experience or ability to work across diverse clinical settings, including Emergency Department and rural care environments.
Ability to provide patient- and family-centered care and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Shift Rotation/Hours  Days, Nights — 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, Rotating
