Shift: 12 Hours Day

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) is responsible for the delivery of patient care during surgical procedures.

This includes preparing the OR, assisting the surgical team, maintaining a sterile field, and ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure.

The OR RN works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and other nursing staff.

• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and protocols.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients.
• Prepare the operating room and necessary equipment prior to procedures.
• Act as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse during surgical procedures.
• Monitor the patient’s condition before, during, and after surgery.
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Document all aspects of nursing care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Handle surgical specimens per facility protocols.
• Advocate for patient safety and well-being at all times.

Education:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN).

Licensure:

Current and valid RN license.

Certifications:

BLS and ACLS required (CNOR preferred).

Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years of OR or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
