As a Silviculture Forester, you will work with a team of forest analysts, planners, and forest operations specialists to support the forest land management needs of our Indigenous, government, and industry clients. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic with a passion for forestry and a keen interest in Indigenous relations, with an understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing and the practice of forestry.
You must be a strong communicator while working closely with internal staff, clients, agencies, and other resource professionals. Working individually and in a team environment is essential while learning and leading the shifting forest policy framework.
- A positive team player with solid communication skills, leadership qualities, and a safety-conscious attitude.
- Post-secondary education with a natural resource management focus.
- Registered RFT with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) is mandatory. RPF designation ideal.
- Minimum five years of related experience in leading silviculture survey shifts.
- Experience leading and facilitating diverse groups.
- Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail, work accuracy, and quality.
- An understanding of advanced forestry geomatics datasets and forest landscape analysis processes.
- Background and/or experience in coastal silviculture regulations and leading silviculture survey shifts in remote areas on the coast.
- Accredited Silviculture Surveyor certificate considered an asset.
- Valid BC driver’s license and safe driving record.
