Join an innovative team as a Senior Archaeologist, leading field crews in British Columbia and Alberta. Responsibilities include subsurface testing and adhering to Heritage regulations while ensuring safety.
This position with a focus on field leadership requires extensive knowledge of archaeological practices. You will conduct pedestrian traverses, support permit holders, and manage data reporting. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for fostering a positive team environment and achieving project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead fieldwork including hiking and subsurface testing
• Write reports and manage archaeological data
• Maintain compliance with safety and Heritage regulations
• Provide logistical support and solve field-related issues
• Promote safety practices with co-workers
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology
• 1-2+ years experience in BC or Alberta archaeology
• Class 5 Drivers License and Intermediate First Aid
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to conduct manual labour in rugged terrain
Support archaeological projects while ensuring safety and compliance in the field.
