Connective is a dynamic non‑profit organization that provides innovative programming in the social services sector. We strive to create safe, healthy, and inclusive communities for all.
NBCTC   The Northern BC Therapeutic Community (NBCTC) provides a safe and private community for 45 adult men who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness and are interested in community‑based recovery from problematic substance use. The program is also open to those with criminal justice involvement. The NBCTC takes a holistic, participative and group‑based approach to programming. Residents have access to wraparound supports including meals, life skills training, educational opportunities, recreational programmes, cultural supports and connections to community services.

The 166‑acre location also allows for various agricultural opportunities.
ROLE PURPOSE   This position will provide casework and support to residents of Connective’s programmes to enhance their quality of life, to ensure the orderly and safe operation of the facility, and to maintain the goals of the counselling and/or rehabilitative plans.
LOCATION   34000 Blackwater Rd, Prince George, BC V2N 6H1
STATUS AND CLASSIFICATION   Non‑Union. This position is open to applicants of all genders.
HOURS   The casual position candidate should be able to confirm availability for 21 shifts (7 days) per month (7 overnight), or 15 shifts (5 days) per month (5 overnight) – if holding a FT job or student.
Shift duration: 12 hours; day shift (0800‑2000) and overnight (2000‑0800).

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS     Reports and is accountable to the Program Manager or their designate.
Participates as a member of the Connective services team to ensure quality and continuity of services to residents.
Liaises with staff and volunteers of community and government agencies as required.
Liaises with Connective staff as necessary.
Accepts direction from the care team.
Participates as a member of the Connective staff team.
KEY

ACCOUNTABILITIES     Participates in the assessment, goal setting, and programme planning - such as Personal Service Plans - for individuals. Documents and implements the plan and provides input into the evaluation of the programme.
Evaluates client needs and develops short‑term plans to meet such needs with the active participation of residents and their families.
Works directly with additional staff, community service and support providers, government and non‑government organisations, and First Nations service providers to inform the development and implementation of individual support plans.
Supports the admission, orientation, evaluation of residents’ understanding of rules, and discharge procedures; ensures the ongoing enforcement of policies, which may include resident accountability.
Assists residents with daily life skills, social skills, and/or behaviour management. Nurtures opportunities and assists residents with activities such as grooming, basic cooking, money management, shopping, household safety, and pet care. Facilitates physical, recreational, educational, social, and vocational activities.
