Wellness Worker

Position: Full-Time Wellness Worker Role
Location: Fraser Lake

Become a Wellness Worker in Stella Community, focused on substance misuse prevention and support. Collaborate with clients to create treatment plans and facilitate support groups for a healthier community.

Reporting to the Health Director, this full-time position involves assessing client needs, organizing group counseling, and promoting cultural knowledge. You will engage with the community by coordinating self-help groups and organizing educational workshops on substance abuse prevention. The role demands strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of local health resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess client needs and develop treatment plans

• Co-host group counseling and educational workshops

• Consult with traditional healers for insights and support

• Maintain community event schedules and client files

• Promote cultural activities to enhance knowledge and pride

Requirements:

• Certification from the Indigenous Accreditation Board (CICSAW)

• Strong knowledge of substance misuse interventions

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

• Clean Criminal Record Check is mandatory

• Knowledge of SFN Culture and Traditions
