Life Skills Support Worker (Part Time)
Indigenous Complex Care Housing
The Prince George Native Friendship Centre requires individuals with knowledge of the health and social determinants impacting residents who may be experiencing homelessness or risk of homelessness and may be experiencing mental health and addictions. The Indigenous Complex Care (ICC) Life Skills Support Worker will deliver high quality, resident focused programs across the continuum of community services and liaise with local community supports and other service providers.
The ICC Life Skills Support Worker will provide the model of service that meets professional standards and evidence-based practices. This program is designed to meet the individual needs of each resident starting from where they are in their personal and cultural journey.
Qualifications include:
Post secondary combined with years of related experience.
Willingness and ability to work with residents to be supported in identifying developing, and strengthening their cultural identity and their own life plan.
Experience in working with Indigenous groups/communities in a cultural context.
Certification, First Aid, Class 4 Driver's License, Crisis Prevention Intervention, Suicide Intervention, Food Safe; are required but will consider applicants willing to achieve after hire.
Ability to undergo a successful criminal record search.
Wages $24.72/hr.
- $28.70/hr. based on qualifications and experience with a full benefit plan and RRSP contributions.
