Vacuum and Pressure Pump Operator, Industrial Services

Position Summary

Our GFL Industrial Services team is seeking Vacuum Truck and High Pressure Pump Operators in Kitimat, BC. The responsibilities include but are not limited to transporting, removing, delivering, and collecting diverse liquid and solid hazardous wastes from different locations. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to assist with swamping and undertake various physical tasks to support the team. This role also provides the opportunity to operate a wide range of vac trucks and gain experience with high pressure pumps and equipment.

• Operate various trucks to perform tasks required by the customer ranging from vacuum trucks and hydro‑vacs to combo‑vacs and high‑pressure pumps and equipment.
• Set up and control hoses attached to the pumps to ensure safe and effective operations.
• Maintain and update driver’s logbook daily.
• Ensure all equipment and tooling is cleaned and stored in appropriate unit, case, or container before it is returned to the shop.
• Participate in job site preparation, including the rigging in/out of equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Valid Class 3 drivers’ license with an acceptable commercial driving abstract;
  Class 1 driver’s license is an asset.
• Must be able to operate manual transmission.
• Ability to travel when required.
• Flexibility of working after‑hours for any call outs.

• Ability to work in all weather conditions for extended periods of time.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
