Work on the road transporting goods and materials as a long haul truck driver.

• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks.
• Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Conduct pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and secure cargo.

• Education:
  
  Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Certificates and licences:
  Air Brake (Z) endorsement;
  Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
• Experience:
  
  Experience an asset.
• Communication systems experience:
  Operate GPS and navigation equipment.

• Attention to detail.
• Handling heavy loads.
• Repetitive tasks.

Weight handling:
Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Personal suitability:
Flexibility, judgement, reliability.

Work location:

On the road.

Salary: $36.60 per hour. 50 hours per week. Permanent full‑time employment.

Start date:
