Description
Prince George Transit, operating as part of Keolis Canada, is looking for a Bus Detailer to join their team. This is a part‑time contract role until the end of the year with possible continuation. This person would ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable experience for passengers by performing high‑quality interior cleaning and detailing of transit buses as part of a maternity leave coverage assignment.
This role can be done 3 days a week (8 hour shifts) or 4 days a week (6 hour shifts).
Knowledge and Experience
Prior experience in cleaning, custodial work, or vehicle detailing is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Knowledge of safe use of common cleaning agents, tools, and equipment (e.g., mops, vacuums, disinfectants).
Understanding of basic workplace safety practices and ability to follow company policies and procedures.
Ability to commit to a part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week in a maternity leave coverage position.
Skills
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Effective time‑management skills to complete assigned buses and tasks within set timelines.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and safely perform tasks involving bending, reaching, lifting, and working with cleaning equipment.
Key Accountabilities
Interior Cleaning and Detailing of Buses
Perform thorough cleaning and detailing of bus interiors (floors, seats, windows, stanchions, driver area, and other interior components).
Ensure all buses meet and exceed company cleanliness and presentation standards.
Use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to achieve optimal results.
Report any observed interior damage, vandalism, or issues requiring maintenance attention.
Complete assigned buses within expected time frames and quality standards.
Support a positive customer experience by ensuring interiors are consistently clean, safe, and presentable.
Safety, Compliance, and Work Environment
Follow all safety procedures and company policies during the detailing process.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning chemicals in accordance with training and safety data sheets.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Immediately report any safety hazards, incidents, or near‑misses to supervision.
Support environmental stewardship by using resources and materials responsibly and minimizing waste where possible.
Participate in required safety, environmental, and operational training.
Documentation, Communication, and Teamwork
Complete basic documentation or reports related to vehicle status and work performed, as required.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work priorities, issues, and equipment needs.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure all buses are completed according to schedule.
Provide feedback on cleaning processes, tools, or products to support continuous improvement.
Demonstrate reliability and punctuality in attendance and start/finish times.
Represent the organization professionally in all interactions on‑site.
Wage
Top Hourly rate: $30.21 for 20 hours per week.
Probationary wage (first 320 hours): 5% of $30.21, which is $24.93 per hour.
After 320 hours until 640 hours: 5% of $30.21, which is $26.42 per hour.
After 640 hours until 1000 hours: 5% of $30.21, which is $27.94 per hour.
After 1000 hours: 100% of $30.21, which is $30.21 per hour.
