Casual Assistant Special Education

Position: Casual Assistant for Special Education Needs
Support students with special needs as a Casual Assistant in a flexible, on-call environment. Your involvement is crucial for their growth and educational success.

In this role, you will provide direct support under the direction of classroom teachers while addressing the diverse needs of students. Your ability to work well on short notice and your experience with children will be vital for effective support. Engage with school teams to develop and adapt Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist individuals and small groups with instructional tasks

• Support personal, behavioral, and communication challenges

• Supervise hygiene and personal care activities

• Administer medical needs per instructions

• Aid in preparing instructional materials based on teacher direction

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent required

• At least 3 years' experience in child care

• Preference for Education Assistant qualifications (EA2)

• Basic First Aid/CPR training or readiness to obtain

• Proficient in organizational and communication abilities
