We’re excited to open applications for a skilled and motivated Project Engineer (Drilling Specialist) to join our team and support a high‑profile Alta Gas project in stunning Prince Rupert, BC .

This fly‑in, fly‑out position follows a 14 days on / 7 days off rotation and includes fully covered travel and accommodations for the duration of your contract. You’ll work alongside a high‑performing team in one of the most dynamic coastal environments in British Columbia.

Why This Role Matters

As a Project Engineer (Drilling Specialist), you’ll play a critical role in supporting drilling operations, coordinating engineering requirements, and ensuring safe, precise, and successful execution of piling and foundation works on the Alta Gas Prince Rupert project.

Your work directly supports the performance of our crews and the success of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, drilling requirements, and engineering specifications
  • Support drilling operations, sequencing, and drilling best practices for marine and heavy civil works
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, material takeoffs, and construction schedules
  • Assist field teams with technical guidance, troubleshooting, and engineering support
  • Track project progress, cost codes, quantities, and financial performance
  • Prepare progress reporting, forecasting, and documentation updates
  • Coordinate subcontractors and ensure deliverables are submitted on time
  • Maintain accurate project logs, records, and document control processes
  • Monitor drilling performance, tooling needs, and production efficiencies
  • Support adherence to safety policies, quality standards, and environmental requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 5+ years supporting heavy civil, drilling, piling, or marine construction projects
  • Engineering degree (Civil, Geotechnical, Mechanical) or Civil Technology Diploma
  • Strong understanding of drilling operations, marine construction, and foundation systems
  • Proficiency in estimating, cost tracking, planning, and scheduling
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a field-based, multidisciplinary team
  • Strong initiative, problem‑solving ability, and attention to detail
Skills, Abilities & Attributes
  • Drilling, piling, and heavy civil construction knowledge
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and drilling requirements
  • Comfortable working in remote environments and changing conditions
