The Department of National Defence (DND) supports the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Canadian Coast Guard. As a Civilian Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), you maintain and repair fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft supporting operations across Canada, including Arctic regions and aboard Canadian Coast Guard vessels.

• Willingness and ability to undertake training to maintain or upgrade knowledge, skills and abilities

Education
Successful completion of a recognized post‑secondary school program in aircraft maintenance or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.

Occupational Certification
Possession of a valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer category licence M1, M2 or both.

Experience
Recent and significant experience as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer maintaining fixed or rotary wing aircraft. At least 3 years of relevant experience and within the last 5 years. (Stream 1 requires fixed‑wing experience; Stream 2 requires rotary‑wing experience; Stream 3 requires either.)

• Experience or training in maintenance for Bombardier Challenger series, De Havilland Dash series, Bell 412, Bell 429, Bombardier Global series
• Experience or training on Class 1/2/3 Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)

Preference will be given to veterans first, followed by Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of jobs located in Nunavut or Yukon. For positions located in Nunavut qualified Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement will be appointed first. For positions located in Yukon qualified Yukon First Nations will be appointed first followed by qualified Indigenous persons.

• Successful completion of medical examinations prescribed by Health Canada (for some positions)

• Willing and able to travel for extended periods up to six weeks at a time aboard Canadian Coast Guard Ships in Coastal Waterways (for some positions)
