Gateway Operations Specialist at PRPA

Become a Gateway Operations Specialist with the Prince Rupert Port Authority, focused on security and operational integrity. This role involves daily monitoring and coordination of marine, road, and rail activities.

Reporting to the Manager of Port Security & Operations, you will oversee security, handle administrative duties, and manage permit approvals. Your expertise will support emergency responses while ensuring compliance with maritime activities. This position emphasizes vigilant observation and efficient operations to facilitate the smooth functioning of the port.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor marine activity using radar and CCTV systems

• Approve gateway operational permits and safety protocols

• Coordinate vessel movements within the Port

• Manage daily operational reports and communications

• Implement the Incident Command System for emergencies

Requirements:

• 2 to 5 years in operations, security, or customer service

• Valid BC Security Worker License and Marine Medical Certificate

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

• Proficiency in MS Office applications
