Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire Salary: £52,026 - £79,092 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Start Date: September 2026 for the duration of the Autumn term
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Headteacher to lead a specialist school supporting children and young people with complex needs, SEMH and challenging behaviour. The school provides a nurturing, structured, and highly supportive learning environment, with a strong focus on personalised education, emotional development, and preparing pupils for future independence.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the school
- Lead on school improvement planning and delivery of outcomes
- Oversee day-to-day operational management
- Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and curriculum development
- Promote a culture of safeguarding, inclusion, and wellbeing
- Manage budgets, resources, and commercial performance effectively
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing Senior Leadership Team and wider staff body
- Build strong relationships with staff, families, and external stakeholders
About You
We are looking for a dedicated and driven leader who:
- Holds QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Has Senior Leadership Team (SLT) experience
- Demonstrates expertise in strategic planning, leadership, and school improvement
- Has experience within SEND or specialist education settings
- Is committed to high standards, safeguarding, and inclusive practice
- Are confident managing budgets, resources, and operational priorities
- Brings strong communication, resilience, and a passion for making a difference
