Position SummaryReporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Accountant will work alongside the CEO and CFO in grant-related accounting, including budgeting, projections, analysis of expenses and state/federal compliance and executing Aurkah’s financial and accounting transactions. The Accountant will manage the revenue cycle process for clinical services, monitoring all facets of billing and collections with adherence to billing standards.
EssentialJob Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations in Quick Books, including checks, deposits, disbursements, payroll, vendor invoices, and reconciliations
- Oversee month‑end close: post transactions, prepare invoices, record patient billings, and submit grant reimbursement requests
- Partner with the CFO on coding invoices, preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses; support grant budgeting and reporting
- Oversee the Procurement Specialist and ensure timely payment and purchasing processes
- Prepare and maintain accurate federal, state, and grant financial reports; monitor compliance with funder requirements, deliverables, and spending
- Coordinate annual audit, serving as primary contact for auditors and preparing required documentation
- Review salary allocations to ensure proper grant/project charging
- Prepare and distribute financial reports to the Board, funders, and leadership, addressing issues as needed
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of previous accounting experience required
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting and grant management preferred
- Experience working with accounting software required;
Quick Books preferred
- Salary: $65,000 to $80,000
