Who We’re Looking ForToyota’s Region 2 Production Engineering Team (Weld, Paint, Assembly) seeks a highly-motivated Production Engineer to support project planning and implementation for new model releases as well as capital projects for assembly, paint, and weld shop improvements.
What You’ll Be Doing- Early Project Planning and Impact Analysis – Layout analysis emphasizing new model impacts and shop optimization.
- Impact Assessment of model changes on logistics, process equipment, and conveyor systems to establish technical change requirements.
- Technology Development – Implementation of QC vision systems for vehicle quality confirmations.
- Equipment Projects – Lead projects from concept to launch for new model projects, capital projects, refurbishments, and plant competitiveness projects, managing schedules, budgets, and quality plans.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Build relationships with internal and external groups across Toyota, including production engineering project leaders, logistics, maintenance, and external suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology, or associate degree in Engineering Technology with 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- 2+ years experience in Production Engineering or engineering roles focusing on equipment development and procurement.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shutdowns to support tooling modifications and installations.
- Self‑starting individual with focus on meeting or exceeding project KPI’s.
- Project experience in new model development related to capital equipment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (minimum 2 years) and Inventor or Catia (minimum 2 years).
- MS Office proficiency.
- Ability to travel up to 20% to all NAM (North American Manufacturing) sites and Japan.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or advanced degree.
- Experience in one or more new model launch preparations.
- 2+ years Construction Management experience.
- Experience in Simultaneous Engineering or vehicle design for new model launches.
- Project management experience.
