Emergency Medical Technician – Securitas Group
Wage: $21.30/hour
Location: Available Monday–Friday positions.
Job Summary: Administers first‑aid treatment to and arranges transport of sick or injured persons to medical facilities. Works as part of the emergency medical team, conducts periodic inspections of protective devices and fire‑control equipment, and enforces regulations related to personnel, visitors, and premises.
Distinguishing CharacteristicsDuties include essential function of providing emergency medical technician services as designated by client contract. May be assigned a service grade or rank in a chain of command in conformance with contract requirements.
Essential Functions- Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury; establish first‑aid procedures.
- Administer prescribed first‑aid treatment at the scene, using splints, oxygen, etc.
- Communicate with professional medical personnel to obtain instructions and arrange transfer.
- Control access to client site; screen visitors and employees.
- Provide a courteous, respectful interaction with clients and visitors.
- Monitor entrances and exits; prevent unlawful entry.
- Patrol assigned site and inspect for hazards, locked doors, violations.
- Act as first responder in incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, hazardous materials, etc.
- Prepare and maintain logs or reports as required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have EMT‑1 Certification.
- Must have a reliable means of communication (pager or phone).
- Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
- Legal right to work in the United States.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- High School Diploma or GED; willing to complete GED within six months if not earned.
- Willingness to participate in pre‑employment screening, drug screen, and background investigation.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.; one or more years of related Emergency Medical Technician experience preferred.
Competencies- Meet state, county, and municipal certification requirements for EMT‑1.
- Meet licensing requirements for Security Officers.
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
- Follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
- Effective team member; maintain professional composure.
- Courteous telephone manner.
- Adapt to changing external environment.
- Write routine correspondence, logs and reports.
- Organize efficiently; provide high‑quality customer service.
- Interpersonal skills for diverse cultures.
Requires frequent standing and walking, occasional lifting up to 70 pounds, and use of protective gear. May be exposed to inclement weather, hazardous materials, and blood‑borne pathogens. Must handle multiple tasks concurrently and keep composure under stress.
