Every Food Service Lead is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the Food Service Department within company policy in such a manner as to ensure that the department is profitable and maintains the highest level of quality and customer service.

• Ensure that the food service department is open and ready for business during all hours for which the department is scheduled to be open.
• Effectively schedule associates to meet business demands using a fixed schedule.
• Give all customers prompt and courteous service.
• Communicate effectively with store associates and management.
• Follow all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances pertaining to the operation of the department.
• Provide a role model of conduct for other associates in the store.
• Control variable expenses of the department.
• Ensure all associates are in proper uniform and providing prompt, courteous customer service.
• Ensure all paperwork is done accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory and loss within company guidelines.
• Conduct inventories as directed by management.
• Ensure all associates are properly recording all hours worked.
• Treat all associates with dignity and respect and use proper personnel management techniques.
• Ensure that all associates receive breaks.
• Advise Store Manager of any personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance.
• Train all new associates on proper completion of their job duties.
• Ensure all associate shift procedures are followed.
• Ensure a safe shopping and working environment.
• Ensure all safety rules are followed and protective equipment used.
• Ensure current sign program is posted on the date the program begins.
• Ensure current plan‑ograms are used.
• Communicate with the Division Manager any special needs or requests.
• Effectively order merchandise to prevent out‑of‑stocks and maintain proper inventory levels as directed.
• Ensure the food service appearance reflects company expectations and standards.
• Keep all food service display cases and glass clean.
• Report any maintenance problems that cannot be corrected immediately without assistance to the store manager.
• Follow all sanitation procedures.
• Ensure that ladders are properly used.
• Ensure lifting procedures are followed per company policy.
• Ensure wet floor signs are used per company policy.
• Report accidents promptly to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Actively promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app to customers.
• Communicate to customers the benefits of signing up and using the app.
• Monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
• Assist customers on how to sign up and use the app for discounts and redemption.
