Description: The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for conducting field sales to assigned or prospective customers, providing the best possible sales/service experience and creating new business while giving a positive experience to existing customers.
Responsibilities- Travel around your sales area to meet with existing and new customers.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
- Schedule appointments and meet with existing customers to identify and qualify potential new prospects and present current product needs.
- Effectively plan and conduct sales calls by meeting customers physically on a daily basis.
- Identify and qualify prospective customers through research, networking, and cold calling.
- Estimate projects and perform take-offs for contractors and customers.
- Measure doors, windows, siding, roofing, and other products when necessary.
- Maintain great communication with customers and coworkers.
- Provide company product options and services to customers.
- Ensure customer inquiries are handled promptly.
- Deliver product to a customer if necessary.
- Be familiar with customers' product preferences in the sales territory.
- Service customers after normal business hours when needed.
- Maintain professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company in a positive manner.
- Be familiar with stock inventory of specific stores in the sales territory.
- Provide customers with requested product lists and prices in a timely and professional manner.
- Regularly communicate to all customers about company products, procedures and services.
- Aggressively follow up on business opportunities.
- Follow up with customers that products were delivered as expected.
- Enhance up-to-date knowledge on new products, procedures, services, and tools by attending departmental and training meetings as scheduled.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Responsibly schedule general maintenance and maintain a clean company vehicle.
- Attend and participate in scheduled staff/sales meetings.
- Professionally handle customer complaints.
- Keep all company information confidential.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Department Head, Manager, and/or Ownership.
