Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 25-bed night shift position requiring KY or compact license and 2+ years of experience.

Requirements

• Active KY RN license or compact license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Tele experience required, 3 years preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with chest tubes, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience with telemetry monitoring (on-unit)
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care
• Experience with IV insulin protocols
• Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• CPSI EMR experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced, 25-bed Med Surg Tele unit
• Care for Inpatient, Observation, and Swing bed patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:45 PM-7:15 AM)
• Work every other weekend
• No on-call or floating to other units required
• Provide general Med Surg/Tele nursing care including IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and wound care
• Self-scheduling available
• Travel pairs accepted
• Local and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
