The substitute for the Front Desk Administrator (FDA) is part of our Front Office team and is a partner in living out the mission of our school. Requests for substitute coverage are made on an as-needed basis throughout the school year. Training is provided.
Ministry
Purpose:
Consistent with the call of Romans 12:9-13, the Front Desk Administrator (and the substitute) is an ambassador for The Wilberforce School both internally and externally. As the first point of contact and the central operator of the school, the Front Desk Administrator seeks to be genuine in love, caring for visitors as well as our school community (students, faculty, staff, and parents).
The Front Desk Administrator is honorable with confidential information, patient and hospitable in caring for the needs of others, and consistent in prayer for our school and community. The Front Desk Administrator seeks to reflect the school’s mission and culture in his/her role.
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet and help all parents and visitors to The Wilberforce School
- Responsible for student arrivals and sign outs, before care,dismissals, and dismissal logs
- Manage school-wide attendance and tardy process
- Check emails sent to the Front Desk and respond
- Help students who come to the Front Desk throughout the day (missing snack or lunch, calling home, need a pass, health issues, etc.)
- Provide basic first aid and emergency care for students and contact parents as necessary
- Help with setting up and welcoming visitors for admissions events
Reporting Relationship:
- Front Desk Administrator Substitute reports to the Director of Admissions.
Work Hours:
- Generally 7:30-4:00pm, with a 30 minute break for lunch.
- Days and hours of work are arranged by mutual agreement on an as-needed basis
Education:
- CPR certified (can be provided after acceptance)
Experience:
- Experience working with students and families preferred
Personal Qualities:
- Be committed to furthering our school’s Christian mission and philosophy of faith-based education
- Agree to uphold our school’s Statement of Faith
- Be willing to submit to and honor the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or Code of Conduct
- Credible profession of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ
- Godly character (pastoral and other character references may be required)
- Regular in-person attendee in good standing (i.e., not under church discipline) at a local Christian church (and a member, if membership is offered). The church’s beliefs are consistent with the Nicene Creed.
