Position: ATHLETIC TRAINER & TEACHER | full-time

The Wilberforce School seeks a licensed Athletic Trainer to support the school's growing athletic programs. This individual may be employed part‑time as athletic trainer only, or (if preferred and qualified) full‑time with additional teaching or administrative roles.

At The Wilberforce School, our understanding of God as Creator and of His saving purposes in Jesus Christ undergirds all that we do, including athletics. All employees of the school are expected to conduct themselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to support the stated mission of the school. In providing a truly Christian education in NJ, we view the physical training of our students, through athletics, as co‑curricular activities and value the role these opportunities play in their spiritual, mental, and physical development.

Ministry

Purpose

In accordance with Ephesians 4:11-12 and Titus 2:7-8, the Teacher is responsible for training the next generation of Christian leaders and equipping them for a life of service to their Savior, homes, churches, vocations, and communities.

Ephesians 4:12
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.

Titus 2:7-8
Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.

  • Establish and maintain an effective athletic training program, including a functional athletic training room with site‑specific policies and procedures manual.
  • Serve as the school's AT for all athletic events and competitions.
  • Coordinate, manage, and implement the medical and risk management of all athletes, inclusive of preventative care (taping, bracing, etc.) and emergency care (CPR, first aid, etc.).
