We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Project Manager, Civil/Environmental Engineer with strong technical and managerial skills to deliver a diverse array of projects that require site characterization; due diligence assessments; environmental investigation related to soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion issues; state and USEPA regulatory interaction, remedial alternatives analysis, remedial design; and field support during remedy implementation and construction.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full‑time position located in our Parsippany, NJ, Princeton, NJ, Holicong, PA or Bethlehem, PA offices.
- Serve as a key member of the environmental remediation group in the mid-Atlantic/northeast to work collaboratively with a passionate team supporting a wide variety of clients with numerous challenging projects.
- Understand client needs and be able to develop strong client relationships.
- Plan and execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary and scheduling requirements.
- Plan and direct environmental field observation and testing programs; including laboratory test selection and data evaluation.
- Lead development of technical approaches, specifically as related to preparing design-phase documents (design reports, design drawings, technical specifications), obtaining project permits, and implementing remedial construction.
- Manage design teams of engineers, scientists and CAD designers to develop complete site/civil/remediation design packages and permit applications for construction.
- Manage and develop remedial alternative assessments and cost analyses, remedial action work plans, and construction cost estimates.
- Manage and implement treatability tests, pilot tests, pre-design investigations.
- Administer and/or manage construction-phase engineering support including submittals review, contractor pay requisitions, change orders, requests for information.
- Understand and adhere to client objectives for remedy implementation and perform designs consistent with regulatory requirements.
- Be effective in assigning and managing work to others.
- Demonstrate strong coaching and mentoring skills to junior level staff.
- Provide clear verbal and written communications including client deliverables.
- Develop a working understanding of H&A’s other consulting practice areas and actively support marketing other additional services to existing clients.
- Minimum of Bachelor of Science in civil or environmental engineering;
Master of Science degree preferred. - Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in environmental regulations, due diligence, environmental investigation, remediation design and compliance, along with environmental construction support experience.
- NJ Professional Engineering license, or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of hire.
- Experience with the preparation of design plans, permit applications and technical specifications for remediation of NJ contaminated sites, including earthwork and site/civil aspects of remedial construction projects; design/build experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to technical details.
- Managing all phases of environmental projects including delegation of work, schedule, cost, quality and client relationship.
- Strong computer literacy skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Blue Beam preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
