Senior Structural Engineer

Base Pay

$100,000 - $175,000 per year

Senior Structural Engineer in the New Jersey/NYC area. Full‑time permanent role at a well‑known engineering service firm that delivers heavy civil projects across the tri‑state area, including rail, airports (JFK), and critical infrastructure.

• Design, plan, and oversee construction of structural components, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to determine project specifications.
• Conduct site investigations to gather data for planning and design.
• Prepare technical reports, designs, and drawings using AutoCAD 3D.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and foundation design.
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and laws.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and other team members.
• Manage risk and mitigate potential project delays or cost overruns.
• Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates.
• Continuously update knowledge and expertise in structural engineering and construction methodologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
  Master’s preferred.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license required (New York, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey preferred).
• Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) or equivalent certification a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in structural engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D and other engineering software.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices.
