Base: $/yr – $/yr (actual pay will be based on skills and experience)

• Serve as Staff Counsel for CURE Auto Insurance, handling files from inception through trial and appeal, if necessary.
• Taking and defending depositions, negotiating, and establishing experience successfully trying cases.
• Handle coverage matters, with mandatory PIP insurance defense background; BI, UM, and auto physical damage coverage preferred.
• Managing a caseload independently, coordinating with support staff, and handling court presentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 5+ years of experience handling first and/or third party personal auto insurance cases and coverage matters from inception to conclusion, including arguing motions in limine and trials.
• Proven track record of managing a full pending load of case assignments.
• Extensive knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and substantive law relating to coverage matters.
• Experience presenting and cross‑examining lay and expert witnesses.
• Experience directing support staff on clerical and administrative matters related to lawsuit handling.
• Experience working in a paperless electronic environment.
• Strong automation/technological skills for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation.
• Law degree from an ABA‑accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active law license to practice in Michigan and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.

Hybrid schedule: attorneys come into the office 2‑3 days a week with flexible work hours between 8:00‑5:00 AM.
