Senior Manager, Benefits, Wellness & Leave Administration
Develop and lead strategic oversight of the firm’s benefits, wellness, and leave programs, ensuring alignment with organizational growth and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and direction for design, implementation, administration and continuous improvement of all health, group benefits, wellness, retirement, leave and other perks/benefits programs.
- Oversee development and execution of comprehensive wellness and leave strategies, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws such as FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, ERISA.
- Lead and develop the U.S. benefits team, fostering a culture of operational excellence, collaboration and professional growth.
- Partner with HR, Talent and Finance to drive strategic improvements and integrate benefits and leave programs, including during M&A.
- Oversee administration of all U.S. benefits and leave programs: enrollment, claims, vendor management, compliance, policy development.
- Ensure accurate management of leave data, payments and balances; perform audits and analyze program usage.
- Maintain quality assurance, document procedures and implement efficient administrative processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, vendors and consultants.
- Lead benefits communication and education initiatives, ensuring employees and managers are informed.
- Provide support and guidance on benefit and leave matters, including complex issues.
- Prepare reports summarizing trends, high‑cost claims, forecasts for budgeting.
- Oversee management and communication of the 401(k) plan and Executive Physical program.
- Review, create and update Summary Plan Descriptions and policies to maintain compliance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR or business emphasis.
- Minimum 7 years progressive benefits administration experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefit Professional (CBP) preferred.
- Strong expertise in benefits program design and administration.
- Experience in a multi‑state regulatory environment and knowledge of ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, NY‑HCRA.
- Strong knowledge of state leave laws.
- Experience leveraging technology for benefits administration;
Workday HCM/Benefits/Absence preferred. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience interacting with brokers and vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and provide guidance.
- Excellent communication, analytical and project‑management skills.
- Proven organizational and planning skills, able to manage complex projects, multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Comfortable with group presentations and negotiations.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong customer‑service acumen.
- Ability to work at both high‑level strategic planning and low‑level execution.
The compensation range for this position is $155,000 – $165,000 per year. Additional benefits include a competitive benefits package and bonus program based on performance.
