Join to apply for the Nurse Practitioner role at Princeton University

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive outpatient clinical care to Princeton University students and eligible dependents, encompassing both primary care and acute same-day services. The NP functions as a core member of the Medical Services team, ensuring timely, high-quality, and patient-centered care consistent with University Health Services’ mission and values.

This is a 100% clinical position; however, clinical schedules and responsibilities may flex periodically in response to operational priorities, seasonal demand, or system improvement initiatives. During lower-demand periods, the NP may participate in quality, process improvement, or educational projects aligned with Medical Services goals.

Experience and/or interest in gender-affirming care, eating concerns, and/or travel health and immunization compliance will be viewed favorably.

  • Contributes to efforts aimed at enhancing access, safety, efficiency, and patient experience.
  • Collaborates with peers and leadership on projects related to process redesign, documentation quality, or staff education.

  • The scope of practice for this provider is limited to care for Princeton University students and their eligible dependents, as defined in the University Health Services (UHS) Scope of Practice policy.
  • General liability coverage is provided by the University for professional activities performed within the UHS scope of practice. University malpractice coverage does not extend to activities outside this scope, such as private practice.
  • The University has designated spokespersons for external communications. Any interactions with the media, public, or general student body must be consistent with university policies.
  • While UHS currently does not have evening provider appointment hours, leadership reserves the right to extend clinical hours, including limited evening sessions, with appropriate notice if operational needs require.
  • Providers in this role will be scheduled for occasional Saturday clinics throughout the academic year as part of the team’s coverage model.
  • Although NPs currently do not participate in after-hours call, UHS reserves the right to include them in the weekday night‑call rotation with ample advance notice and appropriate training and support.
