Introduction
Passionate about wildlife and eager to experience life in one of the worlds most beautiful cities? Join the Wildlife Rescue Center near Vancouver and play a hands-on role in rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing native animals back into the wild.
As a volunteer at Canadas largest wildlife rehabilitation facility, youll help care for nearly 5,000 injured, orphaned, or pollution-affected animals each year. The center specializes in rehabilitating native bird speciessuch as songbirds, waterfowl, and shorebirdswith the goal of restoring them to full health and returning them to their natural habitats.
Your days will be physically demanding and fast-paced, with tasks that vary based on the season and animal needs. From feeding and cleaning to habitat prep and basic treatment support, every task contributes to meaningful recovery and long-term conservation. Youll also help reduce human-wildlife conflict by assisting with the relocation of animals from urban areas to safe, remote habitats.
This year-round program welcomes over 190 volunteers annually and fosters a supportive environment where you'll work alongside experienced staff and fellow volunteers from around the world. A minimum commitment of six weeks is required, with a schedule of 68 hours a day, four days a weekgiving you three days off to explore the spectacular Greater Vancouver area.
