Senior Laboratory Research Assistant - Temporary
Position at Princeton University – Schoop Lab.
The Schoop Lab seeks a highly motivated Senior Laboratory Research Assistant specializing in inorganic material synthesis and characterization. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting‑edge research in the synthesis of quantum materials, their characterization, and analysis of their properties.
Compensation and TermHourly rate: $26.07 per hour for 40 hours per week. Position term until 7/1/26.
Responsibilities- Conduct chemical synthesis of crystalline inorganic compounds in powder and single crystalline form.
- Perform x‑ray diffraction experiments and data analysis.
- Analyze EDX and XPS spectra to ensure quality and purity of synthesized compounds.
- Conduct magnetic and transport measurements on synthesized samples.
- Collaborate with team members to design and optimize experimental protocols.
- Master's Degree in Chemistry, Physics, or related field.
- Previous laboratory research experience, especially in solid‑state chemistry or condensed matter physics.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to problem‑solve and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Detail‑oriented, proactive, and deadline‑driven.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize, and work independently.
