Facility System Technician - Full Time, Day Shift

Job SummaryActing under the general direction of an Engineering Manager, the Facility System Technician performs a wide range of duties to repair, maintain, and enhance the physical operation of the facility and its components.
Responsibilities- Troubleshooting – evaluate a maintenance problem and take action to correct it efficiently and professionally.
- Mechanical – apply advanced competency in general mechanical maintenance, including repair of beds, hand controls, pillow speakers, small motors, and medium appliances.
- Electrical – apply advanced competency in general electrical maintenance, such as changing or repairing switches, outlets, plugs, lighting tubes, bulbs, ballasts; performing safety checks of hospital and patient-owned equipment.
- Emergency duties – snow removal, fire response, and aid during natural disasters.
- Plumbing – rebuild or replace fixtures, unclog drains, solder copper pipe, and fabricate as required.
- HVAC/R – clean or replace filters, adjust and repair heater/AC units, and conduct maintenance on large HVAC/R equipment.
- Paint and Finish – prepare and paint surfaces, install and replace floor and ceiling tiles.
- Lock and Hardware – repair lock mechanisms, door hardware, and cut/codify keys.
- Demolition and Construction – remove and replace piping, wiring, and building materials; perform basic welding and fabrication.
- Carpentry – install floor and wall tiles and perform grouting/sealing.
- Maintain confidentiality, document all safety tests and preventive maintenance, and keep Manager informed of activities.
- Maintain hospital policies, procedures, and accreditation standards, and participate in unit compliance.
- Driver’s License (Required).
- Valid Driver’s License; CDL a plus.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Four‑year apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- Six or more years of general maintenance experience, or experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R, or related specialties.
$22.01 – $35.08 per hour, based on experience and education.
