Our Engineering Team At Noom, our Engineering team powers the technology behind our behavior change platform. From backend systems to mobile interfaces, we architect solutions that enable better health outcomes hin our Med org, engineers are instrumental in building compliant, scalable infrastructure that supports a wide range of healthcare integrations and services.

As we continue to expand our healthcare offerings, we’re seeking a Staff Software Engineer to drive scalable architecture and technical leadership across Noom Med. This role will actively contribute as an IC on one or more Med teams, helping improve the architecture of our integrations while setting a long-term vision for a compliant, performant, and innovative platform.

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and HIPAA-compliant backend systems to support healthcare integrations.
• Set architectural vision for Noom Med, ensuring alignment with broader engineering standards and long-term product scalability.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders—Engineering, Product, Operations, and external vendors—to drive initiatives forward.
• Own and evolve critical integrations with healthcare partners, surfacing and prioritizing opportunities for future improvement.
• Leverage experience with AI or strong interest in AI-driven development tools to enhance the team’s velocity and innovation.
• Actively contribute to codebases (50%), drive architectural planning (25%), and provide technical leadership and mentorship (25%).

• Proven experience operating at the Staff-level or equivalent in backend engineering roles, with at least 8 – 10+ years of experience
• Deep proficiency in Java or Kotlin and experience with the Spring framework.
• Familiarity with relational databases and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred, but any major provider accepted).
• Demonstrated success in architecting scalable integrations with external systems, especially in the healthcare space.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence teams across an engineering function.
• Interest or experience in AI-based tooling or development acceleration.

• The US base salary range for this full-time position is $234,000-$316,000.
• This range reflects the minimum and maximum salary target for the position for US-based candidates, at the time of posting. The actual salary offer is based on factors including relevant experience and training, assessment of functional skills and behavioral competencies, and location, among others.
