Position: RN Hemodialysis - 7am-7pm

RN Hemodialysis, experience preferred, 7a-7p

Join to apply for the RN Hemodialysis, experience preferred, 7a-7p role at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital. The position is 7‑a 7‑p with every other Saturday and call responsibilities, 36 scheduled weekly hours.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi‑state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Experience
  • One (1) year of registered nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN).
Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Modify patient’s plan of care based on data collection and individual needs.
  • Use Evidence‑Based Practice (EBP) to provide patient care.
  • Delegate according to scope of practice.
  • Verify the plan of care with interprofessional colleagues, patient, and caregiver(s).
  • Provide education based on learning needs and family involvement.
  • Promote effective communication among interprofessional team members & healthcare consumers.
  • Influence policy to promote safe patient care.
  • Utilize appropriate resources in providing care, especially in sensitive situations.
  • Incorporate processes to enhance the organizational plan of growth and influence.
  • Participate in developing strategies to promote healthy communities and practice environments.
  • Recognize strategies to improve nursing quality.
  • Provide critical review and/or evaluation of policies, procedures, and guidelines to improve quality of healthcare.
  • Demonstrate understanding of importance of data collection and utilization.
  • Disseminate educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers.
  • Engage in activities related to nurse‑sensitive indicators to enhance quality of care.

For Facilities With Specialty Accreditation Requirements
  • Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, in‑services, and competency validation.
Physical Requirements
  • Minimize the need for employees to manually lift patients; limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds. All transfers, lifts, and re‑positioning will use lift equipment and/or other patient handling aids as indicated.
  • Heavy/Hard work: lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40+ lbs.
  • Visual acuity within normal range.
  • Hearing within normal range (to assess breath sounds, bowel sounds, apical pulse, monitors, etc.).
Working Environment
  • Working protracted or irregular hours.
  • Working around biohazards, infectious diseases, and the deceased.
  • Working with or near hands in water.
  • Working with electrical hazards associated with patient care equipment.
Skills and Abilities
  • Possess interpersonal skills to communicate, negotiate, and resolve conflict.
  • Use competent clinical practice and critical thinking skills to deliver efficient patient care while maximizing resource use.
  • Be flexible in response to changes in work volume, staff and scheduling changes.
  • Work successfully under highly stressful conditions and adapt to varying workloads and assignments.
CAPE Program Levels
  • Level 1No experience required. All graduate nurses with less than 12 months of experience enter at Level 1 with a diploma, ADN, BSN, or higher.
  • Level 2 – Meets requirements for previous level; one year of experience.
  • Level 3 – Meets requirements for previous levels; two years of experience, plus one specialty certification (preferred). Required competencies include charge nurse and/or precepting new staff or nursing students.
