Position
Tradesperson Assistant at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital
Responsibilities- Provide laborer services for renovations and improvement projects performed by the facilities department.
- Perform various construction activities as assigned by supervisor in accordance with policies and procedures and based on skill level and organizational needs.
- Receive, move, relocate, store, and dispose of construction materials and equipment.
- Relocate furniture, records, equipment, and personnel as needed.
- Fabricate, maintain, update, and install new interior and exterior facility signage.
- Clean construction sites (sweeping, mopping, dusting, shoveling).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid driver’s license.
- One (1) year experience in the construction trades and/or vocational training (HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or welding).
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift at least 100 pounds.
- Ability to climb and work off ladders, scaffolding, or electric lifts and operate basic manual cleaning equipment.
- Ability to drive single axle box truck.
- 90% of work is inside.
- 10% is outside in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn construction practices, techniques, and methodologies.
- Ability to interact in a responsible, friendly, and courteous manner with all levels of staff in the organization.
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
