Responsibilities- Design, analyze and fabricate aircraft and automotive systems—including powertrain (hybrid and high‑voltage systems), suspension, aircraft controls, brakes, structures and lighting.
- Conduct fast‑paced design and iteration, using first‑principles hand calculations, Solid Works, FEA, CFD and final manufacturing drawings.
- Implement and test components (suspension drop tests, heat‑exchanger testing, aerodynamic testing, powertrain testing, etc.), documenting all test procedures.
- Work closely in a small team with open communication, providing frequent informal progress updates.
- Assess prototype parts for quality and accuracy against design drawings.
- Assemble and build prototype vehicles, including lifting reasonable weight and handling automotive gases, oils or cleaning solvents.
- Participate in test runs and flights of prototype vehicles, preparing the vehicle and performing required operations during and after testing.
- Excellent written and computer skills, observational and reading abilities, and effective communication skills.
- Experience in fabrication, machining, welding and the use of power tools.
- Ability to work on vehicles from different positions and lift reasonable weight.
