Join Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) as a Laundry & Dry-Cleaning Operations Manager. The role leads, grows, and coaches a team, driving operational efficiencies and ensuring exceptional guest service.
Job OverviewManages all aspects of the Laundry and Dry-Cleaning operation to ensure exceptional guest service.
Impact & Responsibilities- Provides guidance, leadership, and direction to staff to ensure decisions are made and workflow is organized.
- Leads, mentors, coaches, and motivates direct reports.
- Responsible for hiring, employee engagement, and performance management.
- Performs daily inspection of all laundry and dry-cleaning areas to ensure quality standards and maintenance.
- Review and update departmental policies and procedures with HR; prepares standard and requested reports.
- Builds strategy and provides direction to supervisory staff in meeting operational goals.
- Seeks operational efficiencies and industry trends, including automation in partnership with Lead Boiler Operator.
- Participates in annual budget planning, including capital request list.
- Conducts inventory and oversees supply ordering.
- Consults with Laundry and Dry-Cleaning Supervisors on scheduling; collaborates with Housekeeping, Wardrobe, Food & Beverage, and Tribal Operations for smooth guest service.
- Combination of post‑secondary education and 5 years experience in industrial dry cleaning and/or laundry, production, processing, or manufacturing.
- At least 2 years of indirect or 1 year of direct people leadership experience.
- Proven success in budgeting, customer service, P&L responsibility, OSHA safety standards, vendor management, and strategy implementation.
- Spanish language ability preferred.
- Strong organization skills and adaptability.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Valid Class D driver’s license may be required.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Physical ability to perform required duties, including standing 75% of the time.
- Ability to perform a variety of motions such as bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, twisting, pulling, and/or pushing.
