Job Overview
Completes service, installation, and preventative maintenance of commercial HVAC&R and kitchen equipment.
Create Your Path:The Work You’ll Do
- Installs, performs service, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance of heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning, and refrigeration systems (HVAC&R), kitchen equipment, and other related equipment.
- Communicates all necessary information pertaining to HVAC&R and related systems to Supervisor.
- Monitors building temperatures and makes adjustments as necessary.
- Responds to and assists in all building, equipment, or systems emergency situations involving the department.
- Maintains tools, equipment, and work area.
- Operates fire and life safety systems and related equipment.
- Performs limited electrical work.
- Assists with boiler operation and maintenance.
- Participates in testing of fire and life safety equipment.
- Marks up as‑built drawings pertaining to HVAC&R systems for alterations and submits them for conversion to CAD.
- A combination of education and experience equal to 3 years in HVAC&R or related discipline.
- Valid Universal Refrigeration license (required).
- Basic Boiler Knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of computer operation for simple data entry or information retrieval.
- Valid Class D driver’s license may be required with a good driving record.
- Industrial Truck Driving permit may be required (forklift).
- Ability to work in a wide range of climate temperatures, including excessive heat and/or subzero temperatures.
- Proficiency in maintaining safety while handling potential fumes, chemicals, odors, and/or noise.
- Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodations, including on feet 90% of the time.
- Capacity to handle and lift up to 70 lbs as needed.
